Sea Loch visit

We found a crab on the seaweed at the sea loch edge, a caterpillar on the rocks surrounding the sea loch and a blue moth on the vegetation surrounding the sea loch.

Any ideas on the identification of this caterpillar?

The wind was blowing hard and this caterpillar has been blown on the rocks next to the water, very close to going into the water.  It was clinging on for dear life, so we relocated it to the vegetation inland from the rocky edge of the sea loch.

As the wind was showing no sign of calming and there were no other caterpillars of the same type in plain sight, in the area, we decided it needed some help to ensure its survival.

The area where we replaced it was much more sheltered and it could continue with its life unharmed :)
